Analysis of Supergrass 'Road to Rouen' Magazine Advert

MISE EN SCENE
The image is of car lights passing on a road, this relates to the title of the album which helps to make the advertisement memorable. The colours used are grey, teal, yellow and orange. The grey and teal are dull and adds to the simplicity, and the orange and yellow add variety and grabs the audience's attention.

COPY
Capitals and basic font, this adds to the simplicity of the advert which helps make the advert memorable so the audience know what to look for when they go to buy the CD. White is used for the band name and green is used for the album name, this separates them and adds variety to the advert. The album and band name are at the top of the advert as this is the most important information on it because it means the audience can identify the band. The release date is at the bottom of the page to inform the audience of when they can buy the CD.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The advert is plain but creative, this suggests that the target audience would be older teenagers and young adults. There is no identification of gender on the advert, which makes it accessible to both men and women.
